If you have ever been interested in learning traditional oil painting but don’t know where to start this workshop is the perfect introduction to the fundamentals of classical oil painting.
Jackson will introduce you to the essential tools and materials of painting by discussing the qualities of oils, canvas, colours, brushes and so on. The workshop will be a great opportunity to establish safe and professional working practices that are relevant to any level of painter.
Students will work on a simple yet engaging still-life painting exercise to gain an understanding of the properties and possibilities of oil paint. This painting exercise will also introduce students to a fundamental of painting – tonality (light and dark).
