Covered techniques include: MONOPRINTING, COLLAGRAPH, VISCOCITY COLOUR PRINTING
All levels welcome.
MONOPRINTING DAY 1
Monoprinting from the Natural World will focus on forms and textures found in nature using a variety of materials such as pressed leaves, feathers and organic fibres. Cut papers will provide a stencil to create multiple textures, shape and colour. This monoprinting process will reveal exciting and unpredictable compositions with emphasis on layering and colour application.
COLAGRAPH ETCHING DAY 2
Further develop your ideas by drawings onto prepared mount boards involving a cut and peal back process to create your image. In addition, built up areas using textured papers, modelling past, will produce a multilevel surface to be printed. Many exciting combinations will be open for investigation by adhering leaves, organza, threads and eggshells to the boards will result in stunning textural prints with dramatic compositions.
VISCOSITY COLOUR PRINTING DAY 3
This day will be devoted to printing your collagraph plates using the viscosity colour method involving large rollers to apply many colours on the multilevel plate. Viscosity in the ink will yield up to 5 colours in one passage through the press with exciting results. Many printing techniques will be applied and demonstrated such as embossing onto paper. Relief printing and intaglio techniques including a La Poupee colour will equally be introduced.
At the conclusion of the workshop, a Fine Art portfolio of stunning prints will be produced on state of the arts papers.
