Suitable for intermediate - advanced oil painters
Discover how to create mood in your landscape paintings in this 6 week oil painting course. In the studio, you will learn how to create the sensation of light, atmosphere and space through observing tone. You will be shown a method of mixing colours tonally for a variety of outdoor landscapes.
This course is for those with experience in oil painting.
Materials
- Flat Palette or Palette Pad - Melamine, ceramic tile are great.
- Palette knife
- Canvas boards or canvas (10x12 inch to 10x14 inch) or whatever feels comfortable.
- Brushes - I recommend synthetic Neef ‘Long Flat’ in size 6 (also if the budget allows size 4 and 8).
- Odourless solvent + two containers or jars for solvent (solvent MUST be odourless)
- Rags or paper towels
Oil paints:
- Marie’s recommended colour palette is:
- Titanium White or Zinc White
- Ivory Black
- Burnt Sienna
- Yellow Ochre
Lemon Yellow - Ultramarine Blue
Optional: Other colours could include
- Cerulean Blue (Hue will do)
- Vermillion
- or whatever you have
