This class is for beginners or those wishing to refresh their skills.
Over this 2 day still life painting workshop students will learn the fundamentals of tonal painting by observing light, tone and proportion. Students will also learn how to bring a sense of reality and atmosphere to your work.
Starting with a monochrome and learning how to mix colours, you will be taken through a series of exercises and demonstrations to build on skills.
Spaces limited to 9 - small class for the best experience!
MATERIALS
- Flat Palette (Melamine or palette paper preferred)
- Palette Knife
- 3 x canvas boards or canvases of 10x14cm or 10x12cm
- Odourless solvent (Must be odourless!)
- 2 x Jars (for solvent)
- Rags or paper towels
BRUSHES
- Your own brushes
- (Neef Long Flat preferred I use size 4 and 6)
OIL PAINT
- Raw Umber
- Titanium White
- Ivory Black
- Vermillion (hue will do)
- Alizarin Crimson
- Lemon Yellow
- Cadmium Yellow
- Ultramarine Blue
- Cerulean (Hue will do)
- Yellow Ochre
- Burnt Sienna
