This class is for students with experience in oils or those wishing to refresh their skills. Not suitable for beginners.
In this 2 day oil painting class students will paint a portrait from life. Students will be taken through various steps from painting a monotone through to a colour study in oils. Learn how to observe structure, light, tone and form - and be shown a method of tonal painting to capture a likeness using a limited colour palette.
Price includes 8 hours of model time.
MATERIALS:
Flat Palette (Melamine or palette paper preferred)
Palette Knife
2 canvas boards or canvases of 10x14 or 12x16 (whatever feels comfortable)
Odourless solvent (Must be odourless!)
2 x Jars (for solvent)
Rags or paper towels
BRUSHES
Your own brushes
(Neef Long Flat preferred I use size 4 and 6, synthetic)
OIL PAINT
Raw Umber
Titanium White
Ivory Black
Vermillion (hue will do) or Cadmium Red
Yellow Ochre
Burnt Sienna
