Montessa has Bachelor of Fine Arts from The National Art School, and while much of her training was in painting and drawing, since graduating her main focus has been ceramics. Her main interest lies in the way creative practices and objects operate as a mirror for human life, reflecting back to us an enriched or impoverished view of our lives and ourselves. Montessa works as a technical assistant in ceramics at The Workshop Arts Centre. She also works at The Australian Ceramics Association. Her work is found here and there, annually exhibited at The Ewart Gallery, and for sale at Strathnairn Arts Asssociation. She is excited to be teaching children how to use the incredibly versatile material of clay.
