No previous experience required - all skill levels welcome including beginners.
Gain an in-depth introduction to copper plate etching. Explore the unique and exciting range of results that are possible through the etching process and produce a series of prints based on your own imagery.
Students will learn to create a diverse array of marks using a variety of processes as well as gaining an understanding of aquatints and more complex tonal effects.
Students have the opportunity to work at their own pace, creating then printing a number of works throughout the term.
Materials
$45 of basic materials with consumables is included. Students will need to purchase their own copper etching plates and paper. The teacher will provide supplies for sale.
