This class caters for a mixed level of students. Jane will set exercises for those that want it, to explore drawing and painting with mixed media. The more advanced student can work on their own projects and is encouraged to work in their preferred medium; painting, drawing or assemblage. With Jane’s assistance, students can further develop their skills using color, tone and mark-making to abstract their work. Students are encouraged to find and refine their style, and gain confidence in their artistic ability. Jane encourages students to let go, and create.
Jane has a BFA in Sculpture from NAS, and enjoys working across a range of medium including painting, drawing and welding.
Jane is represented by Stella Downer Fine Arts, and is in an upcoming selected exhibition, The "Packsaddle" Fundraising exhibition at the New England Regional Gallery Armidale Starting 25 October. https://www.neram.com.au/event/packsaddle-exhibition-2024/
Materials List
For the first lesson students should bring:
- Heavy mixed media or water colour paper at least A3 sized.
- Various soft brushes from small to larger (a hake brush 2cm wide or larger is useful)
- Some black waterproof ink
- A stick of willow charcoal
- A Wolffe's carbon pencil (watersoluble)
- Graphite pencils
- Coloured ink (optional).
