This course welcomes both beginners and advanced participants to explore many aspects of relief printing using wood, lino, plaster, collagraphs and other surfaces for transfer image.
Both European and East Asian methods will be explored with students working independently.
Printing will be done both by hand and using studio presses.
A variety of papers both European and East Asian will be tested and prints may be adapted to book art.

Materials
Cost includes $50 of materials including a range of printing inks and initial blocks. A selection of carving tools is also made available. You will need to provide your own papers and slowly build your own printing kit. Methods introduced will enable you to practise at home. Please contact the tutor for a materials list.
