This class is suitable for intermediate and advanced students
This is an 6 week course of 4 hours lessons designed to allow students to develop a real momentum in their art practice. Individual tuition will encourage personal visual language in their preferred medium. There will be some class exercises designed to equip students with skills that help visual problem-solving. Please refer to materials list provided.
Materials List | Term 1 2025
The first day will start with an exercise using collage and intense tonal wash.
The idea is to begin a painting in a random and informal way, this can be a base for your own work or it may develop into a unique vision.
You can work on this for the session of return to your own projects.
Materials for the exercise
- Collage paper: Brown wrapping paper and tissue paper
- PVA glue
- Scissors
- Blade cutter
- Gesso (small jar)
- Oil pastels
- Your usual acrylics, including a Mars Black and Titanium White
- Brushes, palettes etc
- Work on good quality watercolour paper (250 -350 grms cold pressed.)
- Canvas can also be used but no wider that 70cms (length is not an issue)
