This one-day throwing course is perfect for beginners and intermediate students who want to learn the basics of the pottery wheel, build confidence or reinforce their wheel-throwing skills.
We'll cover the fundamental skills of clay preparation, wedging, centering, pulling and shaping the clay, along with guiding you through the tools you'll be using. A range of throwing techniques will be demonstrated, with focus on individualised feedback. We’ll explore the many possibilities of the potter’s wheel in this full day course.
Please note: This class is focused on developing technique, so students won’t be firing any pieces made during the workshop.
Please make sure you wear enclosed shoes for this workshop and wear old clothes or bring an apron and a towel.
