Suitable for intermediate students
Whether you’re mesmerised by symmetry or fascinated by the charm of the asymmetrical – coiling with clay can help you achieve your desired forms!
In this workshop, Shannon Lewis will teach you the techniques you need to make and build with clay coils. We’ll work with grogged clay, such as raku, and design and build one small to medium-sized vessel each.
This workshop starts with the basics, so you'll learn how to hand-roll coils, build the base of your vessel and then use coils to build the profile of your piece. Coiling takes time and can provide a relaxing and meditative experience for those willing to slow down and enjoy the process as much as the outcome.
Price includes $25 bisque firing of your finished piece.
