This workshop explores a creative and dynamic response to the figure, using a range of materials and approaches. Responses include rhythm, gesture, contour, and mixed media. Students will make lots of drawings. Michael Herron’s tuition will cater to all levels. A range of materials will be encouraged; coloured pencils, charcoal, graphite, compressed charcoal, ink, gouache and background colours. A materials list is available as Michael is looking to encourage a mixed media approach to the figure.
*First day starts at 9.30am to allow set up.
MATERIALS LIST
Ink and brush plus a small lidded container
2 or 3 sticks of the large willow charcoal
Erasures - kneaded and vinyl/plastic
2x compressed charcoals
white pastel
graphite pencils 4H-6B
2 bulldog clips
A pencil sharpener and retractable blade
A2 paper
A 12 set of in expensive coloured pastels
A charcoal pencil would be a good addition and any other materials you would like to use.
